Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala High Court on Wednesday banned all the protests, strikes and marches in the state until July 31. It also urged the state government to strictly impose the instructions given by the Centre with regard to Covid-19 pandemic.
Chief Secretary and DGP are to ensure that there is no violation of the order and if violated, the responsibility will vest with the concerned political party.
A division bench, comprising Chief Justice S Manikumar and Justice Shaji P Chaly directed the government to take preventive measures to ensure that no political party or association violates the directives issued by the governments and judgements of the Supreme Court.
The High Court gave the order in a plea seeking to prevent public protests and huge gatherings throughout the state, violating the COVID-19 protocols.
