  • A Nurse Struggled With COVID-19 Trauma. He Was Found Dead In His Car

Becoming a nurse in 2018 was a dream come true for William Coddington. It all started to unravel in March, as fatally ill COVID-19 patients showed up in his intensive care unit. The 32-year-old was on the upswing of a decade-long battle with opioid addiction and other substance abuse, according to friends and family, who said he was committed to his recovery. The next morning, Coddington was found dead in his car in a hotel parking lot in Deerfield Beach, Florida. His family suspects a drug overdose. A spokeswoman for the Broward County Medical Examiner’s office said the case is pending. The Broward County Sheriff’s Office said it is still investigating but does not suspect foul play.

  • Food, milk, sanitary pads: Jamaat-e-Islami Hind turns saviour for migrants passing through Bhopal

Unperturbed by how the word ‘Jamaat’ has been vilified after members of the Tablighi Jamaat were accused of spreading the coronavirus, the Jamaat-e-Islami Hind has set up a 24-hour helpdesk on the Vidisha Bypass road on the outskirts of Madhya Pradesh’s Bhopal where passing migrant labourers are being provided with food and other essentials. Jamaat-e-Islami volunteers have ensured food for those who are hungry, milk for children, shoes and slippers for those undertaking long, arduous journeys back home on foot and medicine for those who are sick. The Jamaat-e-Islami Hind has been running five community kitchens in the city for the past one month and close to 10,000 food packets are distributed among the poor every day.

  • Real reason why Nepal mapped Indian territories as its own

Nepal’s frantic reactions over Lipulekh and Kalapani with a new map of the country stems from Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli’s political domestic compulsions. China too appears to have a role in the background. epal has released its new political map claiming Kalapani, Lipiyadhura and Lipulekh as its own territories. These areas fall under the Pithoragarh district of Uttarakhand and in the same region through which new Kailash Mansarovar route passes. The current anti-India posturing by Nepal has clearly stemmed from Oli’s domestic political compulsions and his party’s pro-China stance.
