Karnataka HC to Permit Physical Filing of New Cases on an Experimental Basis

The Karnataka High Court will permit physical filing of the cases on experimental basis from May 13-15 from 11:00 am onwards. The circular which is issued regarding this matter states that the advocates or parties in person who wish to file a case would first have to seek appointment. The application of the appointment would be made on the e-mail id: hck-filing@hck.gov.in   On submitting the application, the person would be told a date, time and counter number.

The circular further states that there would be a medical screening for all before entering the High Court premises. Only those who are found healthy would be given entry to the High Court premises. It has been also made clear in the circular that only five matters can be filled at a time. The circular also highlights the point that if there is an urgency for hearing, then a memo in this regard will have to be moved for fixing the date by as per the procedure as set out in the notification which was issued on April 30, 2020. It was also noted in the circular that the facility of e-filing would continue until further orders.

The circular has also made clear that once the filing is completed, the concerned persons will have to immediately leave the court premises and the person has to maintain social distance and wear masks.
