The Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) is a group of states considering themselves not aligned formally with or against any major power bloc. As of 2011, the movement had 120 members and 17 observer countries. Generally speaking (as of 2011), the Non-Aligned Movement members can be described as all of those countries which belong to the Group of 77 (along with Belarus and Uzbekistan), but which are not observers in Non-Aligned Movement and are not Oceanian (with the exception of Papua New Guinea and Vanuatu).

Recently NAM member states hold virtual meet and had quality inputs in order to fight more aggressively with current pandemic situation. PM Modi ji said that Post COVID-19 world will need some proactive institutions on International platform to manage such disastrous situation. He said India has shown 3D’s (Democracy, Decisiveness and Discipline) to catalyze the fight against COVID-19 so that it may create genuine people’s movement. Modi said that despite India’s own needs, it had ensured medical supplies to over 123 partner countries, 59 of them NAM member states.

Simple Meaning:

Democracy: A form of government in which the common people hold political power and can rule either directly or through elected representatives.

Decisiveness: Having the power or quality of deciding

Discipline: The practice of training people to obey rules or a code of behaviour, using punishment to correct disobedience.

In addition to this, there are another kind of infection is routing like Fake news. Fake news is an online epidemic, and the way forward is three-pronged: One, rethinking the intermediary liability rules to ensure a greater degree of social responsibility and transparency from tech companies; two, passing a law that strictly defines fake news, and three, ensuring tech literacy through awareness drives, to inculcate the habit of verifying all content received. Fake news is punishable under section 54 of DMA, 2005 and section 505(1)(b) of IPC.

“In the post-COVID world, we need a new template of globalisation, based on fairness, equality, and humanity,’’ PM said. He also added that we as a nation come together and need inclusive and co-operative response.
